In May, newlyweds Amanda and Joe celebrated their wedding day at Winchester House, following an atmospheric and beautiful church wedding at nearby All Saints Church, Fulham.
Guests were greeted with a Champagne reception, while the sounds of a string quartet filled the historic Library of this private members’ club. The Create team served a selection of tempting canapés during the welcome reception, with dishes including scallop and parsley lollipops, stuffed fresh gnocchi, pancetta and truffle panini with whipped camembert and rosemary crusted lamb with redcurrant and mint crostini.
At 5pm, guests made their way to Winchester House’s ballroom for the wedding breakfast. This stunning room boasts wonderful views over the Thames and an understated, neutral colour scheme, which really allowed the happy couple to make the space their own. Amanda and Joe themed the space with luscious green floral arrangements, towers of rustic props such as vintage novels and party favours for their guests.
For the wedding breakfast, we served a starter of gin and elderflower salmon, with elderflower cream, peach blossom, pickled lemon, spelt crumb and dill. The vegetarian alternative was braised onion and Lincolnshire poacher tart, with foraged leaves and scallion dressing.
The main event of this delicious wedding breakfast was pot-roasted guinea fowl, served with salsify purée, charred tenderstem broccoli, confit salsify, Madeira and tarragon. Vegetarians enjoyed baked aubergine, with miso glaze, beer and honey, roasted peanuts and wild rice.
The wedding breakfast ended with a chocoholic’s delight, our white chocolate parfait with stem ginger and poached rhubarb. A delicious end to this celebratory feast!
The couple also served a tower of cheeses, including Cornish yarg, Oxford blue, Pecorino Rosso, Coulomiers, Tunworth, Brie du Meaux and Dorstone.
Evening guests were well catered for, with a Tex Mex feast being circulated during the evening party. Dishes included slow-cooked pork burritos, chorizo and potato quesadillas, chicken and parmesan tostadas, sweet potato and feta taquitos with grilled feta and chipotle mayonnaise, confit pork shoulder with shredded cabbage rice, guacamole, salsa and jalapenos and roasted sweet potato, on shredded lettuce with crema salsa.
